Odisha is pioneer in availing concessional rate of borrowings from National Bank for Rural Development (NABARD), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and National Housing Bank (NHB) for creation of infrastructure for rural and urban development and generation of employment opportunities in the State. Infrastructure Funds of NABARD, SIDBI and NHB are project tied in nature. Robust project appraisal mechanism and regular monitoring till completion of the projects are the added advantage of availing the funds. Odisha is currently availing assistance from NABARD and SIDBI under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF) for rural development and promotion of MSME clusters in the State respectively. Government is keen to avail concessional loan from NABARD under Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF), Food Processing Fund (FPF), Micro Irrigation Fund (MIF) etc. Recently State Government has given the consent to avail assistance under Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF) from NHB.
